International Business Lawexamines some of the legal aspects governing the organisation and regulation of private international business, especially multi-national corporations. Counter Terrorism examines key legislation, terminology and concepts around counter terrorism, from radicalisation and extremism to home grown terrorism, interventions, and the Government’s Prevent and CONTEST strategies. The module will assess the organisational structures and inter relationships that exist within counter terrorism policing such as the Counter Terrorism Unit and Special Branch. You will also consider the links between counter terrorism and other forms of criminality and the importance of information and intelligence within this evolving area of policing. At Keele, we have dedicatedLegal Advice Clinicswhere, upon successful application, you will be trained and supervised by experienced Solicitors to deliver legal services, from the start of the client enquiry through to the resolution of their query. You will learn how to interview and advise clients, research the law using practitioner databases, and give practical legal advice. You may be involved in drafting legal documents and court forms as well as advising clients in writing and in meetings.

Teaching and assessment

The Título Intermedio is a 2-3 year degree and is equivalent to a HNC, it is not suitable for postgraduate entry but holders of this award could be considered for second year undergraduate entry or pre-Masters. Students with a Masters degree from a recognised university in Japan will be considered for PhD study. Holders of the 4 year Sarjana from a recognised Indonesian institution will be considered for postgraduate study. The University will consider students who have successfully completed a Bachelors degree of at least three years duration, followed by a Masters degree of one or two years duration.

This extensive network means that we have the ability to identify practical and inventive solutions to help our clients address the issues they face. Fees for international students may increase year-on-year in line with the rate of inflation. The policy at Royal Holloway is that any increases in fees will not exceed 5% for continuing students. These might include an essay about a controversial issue, an advisory question where students have to apply the law to a particular scenario or a critical analysis of a recently published piece of research. This module examines the contemporary literature on gender and politics, with a particular focus on women’s participation and representation in British politics.

On completion of the module, students will have acquired the skills necessary for competent legal practice and will have had experience of handling a client interview. This module provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to gain structured and professional work experience, in a work-based learning environment, as part of their planned programme of study. The placement should significantly support the development of the student’s employability skills, preparation for final year and enhance their employability journey. European Politics have recently come to impact very directly on the lives of students in Ulster. Creating an environment where students can engage in an informed, intelligent and critical manner on the basis of evidence and rigorous debate is a critical contribution to student knowledge, the development of key skills and an important element in Politics education.

Subject area: Politics and international relations

The importance of a tradition of violence is explored particularly in relation to the period since 1996 and this period is related to the history of Anglo-Irish relations. Foundations of Political Thought – The aim of this module is to introduce students to political thought at its most general. It clarifies the principles of the major ideologies of politics, identifies their implications for the practice of politics and encourages students to reflect on the significance of ideological thought in history and the present.

The MA in International Law, Ethics and Politics has been designed to allow in-depth analysis across multiple disciplines. Holders of a Yuksek Diplomasi from a recognised university will be considered for PhD study. Holders of the Licenciado, with at least 13/20 may be considered as UK 2.1 equivalent.

Legal Methods and Systems

Launched to coincide with Kent’s 50th anniversary in 2015, it highlights the longstanding excellence of human and social science research and teaching at the University, and the important role the institution has in contributing to the local community. The second part of the module will look at the effects of SPC on individuals and society, using social media as a case study and drawing on New Media & Society Studies. It will examine the effects of SPC on mental health and self-representation and explore its intersection with questions of identity, particularly gender and race. It will then examine the effects of SPC on the production and consumption of journalistic and political communication (e.g. the challenges of echo-chambers, fake news, political advertising). For obvious reasons, it is crucial that students should know how to interpret and apply a statute. Through a series of fascinating examples drawn from the UK and elsewhere, this module teaches students these skills, which all employers highly value.
